How To Prepare A Holiday Turkey In 2 Very Unique Ways

Turkey is commonly cooked in oven. To make a unique turkey preparation, you can grill or deep fry it for a great holiday celebration.
Deep-Fried Turkey
You need to take the following ingredients: 3 gallons of peanut oil, 1 whole turkey (12 lbs. remove giblets and neck), ¼ Creole seasoning and 1 white onion.
Heat the peanut oil for about 400 degrees F in a turkey fryer. Make sure that it is just right to avoid spills when adding the turkey.
Place food safe paper bags along a large plate. Use them to pat the turkey dry after it is rinsed then rub with Creole seasoning inside and out. The neck should have an opening of about 2 inches to let the oil flow to all comers. Place the turkey in the basket then lower it carefully to be covered in oil entirely. The oil's temperature must stay for 350 degrees F and cook for around 45 minutes. Remove the turkey from oil and drain. In the thickest portion of the thigh, insert a meat thermometer and the temperature should be 180 degrees F.
Grilled Whole Turkey
For this recipe, you need to have the following ingredients: 1 whole turkey (12 lbs.) 2 cups of water, 3 tablespoons of chicken bouillon powder, 2 teaspoons onion powder, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of poultry seasoning, ½ teaspoon parsley (chopped), and 1 teaspoon paprika.
Set up an outdoor grill in medium heat and oil the grate lightly. After rinsing the turkey, pat it dry then place turkey with the breast side down on the grill. Cook until the color is golden brown. Mix water, bouillon powder, onion powder, garlic powder, seasoning, paprika and parsley in a big roasting pan. Put the turkey in the roasting pan with breast side down while scooping some mixture on the turkey. Wrap the turkey in foil and put it on grill for 3 to 4 hours. The temperature of the inner thigh must be 180 degrees F. Before carving, let stand for 15 minutes.
